VRAM is your graphics card's own memory. Textures, models and the frames being drawn all have to fit in it, and when they don't, the game spills into slower system memory and starts to stutter or show blurry textures.
8 GB is still fine for esports and older games, but big new releases at high settings can need more. Here's what fills VRAM, how much you need for 1080p and 1440p, and a demo to see where your settings tip over.
12 GB at a price where most cards offer 8 GB, enough for 1080p at high settings. Works best with a recent CPU and Resizable BAR switched on.

photos, specs, all 3 shops →Same 16 GB, but a much faster chip that can actually use it at 1440p with high settings and ray tracing.
